Join us in Floral Hall during the Seneca County Fair at the Fairgrounds, which is located at the corner of Swift and North Streets in Waterloo. The event also serves as the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce July Business After Hours!

To celebrate Seneca County agriculture, Chef John McNabb from  Knapp’s Winery and Vineyard Restaurant in Romulus is creating several dishes using Chevre (goat cheese) from Lively Run Dairy in Interlaken, shiitake mushrooms from the Amish Mushroom Project in Ovid and a light salad using fresh vegetables from The Veggie Table in Seneca Falls. The Chef’s Seneca County creations will be paired with wines from the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail. The evening will include brief updates on the current state of agriculture in Seneca County from three of CCE’s Regional Agricultural Specialists, as well as displays highlighting Seneca County CCE, Farm Bureau, and Soil and Water programs.

This is a fabulous opportunity to taste some of the best that Seneca County has to offer!

ABOUT

Lively Run Dairy is one of the longest operating commercial goat dairies in the country beginning production in New York State in 1982.

Just starting production is the Amish Mushroom Project located in Ovid. Shiitake mushrooms are grown on logs in an insulated greenhouse and this is your opportunity to try them.

The Veggie Table is operated by the Riegel Family as a farm store and market as well as offering CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) shares and vends at the Seneca Falls Farmers Market.

Providing the wine for the food pairings is the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail, considered the first wine trail in the US, featuring 14 award winning wineries.
