Electronic Waste Drop-off—9am to Noon

Confidential Document Shredding—10am to Noon

Is your house filled with outdated electronic equipment that keeps playing tricks on you?

Is that mountain of old tax records and credit card statements ready to topple over and bury a pet or small child in a pile of paper?

If so, on Halloween Weekend, Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension, Seneca Meadows Inc., and the Seneca County Recycling Office have just the answer for you...an Electronic Waste Recycling and Confidential Document Shredding Day for Seneca County residents!

Unwanted household electronics will be collected at 9am in the North parking lot of the Seneca County Office Building. Please enter at the North Road entrance.

CCE staff and volunteers as well as Seneca Meadows staff will assist residents in unloading their unwanted electronics and confidential documents. And, since it is Halloween weekend, while supplies last, we will have a treat bag filled with recycling and other conservation tips for each vehicle!

CONFIDENTIAL DOCUMENT SHREDDING

In addition to electronics, Shred-Text Document Destruction Services will be on site at 10am to shred your unwanted confidential documents and files. Watch your confidential documents being shredded firsthand.

Confidential documents include papers that contain personal information that you do not want to have public, such as:

  • tax and business records
  • old bills
  • credit card statements
  • medical records

* Please do NOT bring junk mail, non-confidential files, newspapers, etc. - these can be put in your home blue bin and picked up every two weeks.*

Your confidential documents can contain:

  • rubber bands
  • light paper clips
  • staples
  • be in hanging file folders as all of that can be shredded

* Please remove any binder clips and take papers out of three ring binders *

There will also be a limited number of blue recycling bins available as the supply lasts for Seneca County residents who may need to replace their bin or require a second (or third) for their bi-weekly curbside recycling. County residents are allowed up to 8 blue bins of recycling to be picked up every two weeks.

Electronics are being processed by Sunnking Electronics Recycling and Seneca Meadows is funding the cost.
