Best Local Healthy Recipe Contest

  • Saturday, May 27, 2017, 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Do you have a great recipe that your family raves about? Do you want it showcased in Seneca County for eons to come? Do you secretly love to make up your own healthy recipes that make your spine tingle but have no outlet to show off? Then we want your unique recipe!

Cornell Cooperation Extension of Seneca County (SCCCE) is holding a recipe contest which will be featured at the Memorial Day Celebration in Waterloo on Saturday, May 27 th from 3 PM – 5 PM in the Culinary Tent. The contest is designed to provide Seneca County residents the opportunity to share their favorite healthy recipe. We are looking for original healthy recipes that you have cherished with your family and friends.

All submitted recipes will be reviewed by the SCCCE Health Team to ensure that it meets the guidelines for healthy recipe submissions. Recipes that do not meet the guidelines will be rejected, so please make sure to  read the guideline details. The Health Team will recreate and taste test the top 10 healthiest recipes, voting for their favorite three. Those three recipes will be available at the Culinary Tent on Saturday for the community to sample and cast their vote for the final winner.

The top 3 winners of the contest will be awarded gift cards from Wegman’s:

  • 1st prize: $100
  • 2nd prize: $50
  • 3rd prize $25)

The winning recipe will be featured on our website, media outlets, and printed on cards to be handed out throughout Seneca County, showcasing the winner’s name.

The top 10 healthy recipes will also be available on our website. We hope residents throughout the county are able to enjoy healthy meal options using these recipes from the contest for current and future generations.
