Happy EARTH DAY from all of us at CCE Seneca!

To celebrate the 51st birthday, we aim to bring forth activities, projects, and presentations that will inspire you to take action and work to help RESTORE OUR EARTH today, and every day!

Topics include:

  • Climate Change
    • Links to National Agriculture in the Classroom resources from video:
      • Carbon Cycle and Climate Smart Agriculture - explore the carbon cycle, evaluate natural and human-induced activities that drive the carbon cycle, and discover climate smart agricultural practices that can be used to produce our food.

      • Climate Change Phenomena e-Magazine explore the connections carbon, climate, and weather have to our food supply. With interactive links, students can discover how climate and weather impact our food supply, where carbon is found and how it is cycled, what climate change is, and how adaptations and mitigations can help as we face climate change.
      • Happy Cows Help Save the Planet: Climate Smart Agriculture in Costa Rica -Costa Rica has become a world leader in agricultural and forestry practices that help reduce global warming by reducing carbon output, but the real winners are ranchers and farmers who say environmentally sound practices save them money and benefit their livestock, their crops and their livelihoods.

Mynderse Academy members of Seneca GR&EEN Design Re-usable Shopping Bags

This year, re-usable shopping bags were designed by the Mynderse Academy members of Seneca GR&EEN (Generating Recycling and Energy Education Now) Seneca GR&EEN is a 4-H Youth Development Club supported be Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension and local schools that students attend.  Here is a brochure that was also created:  Why Bringing Your Own Re-usable Bag Is Important versus using plastic bags.
