Agenda/Topics:
9am-10am: Composting Workshop - Ryan Staychock, CCE Environmental/Natural Resources Educator. If you’ve been curious about starting your own compost for your garden but feel intimidated by all the information and getting started, this is a workshop you don’t want to miss! Ryan will be explaining how the process works and giving a demonstration of the layering in a compost pile and the effectiveness in feeding it both nitrogen-rich and carbon-rich materials.
10am-10:30am: Tool Sharpening Workshop - Don Cobb, CCE Seneca Master Gardener Volunteer. Our gardening supplies can dull over time, slowly making our work gradually harder. Bring any garden tools that could use sharpening and learn how to sharpen your tools!
10:30am-11am: Preparing your Garden for Spring - with the help of both CCE Master Gardener Volunteers and Seneca County Community Garden Volunteers. Our garden beds have been snoozing all winter, so let’s discuss what we need to do to get them ready for planting!
All participants will also receive handouts and valuable composting and garden tool care information.
