CCE Seneca’s Opening Night Reception at the Fair

CCE Seneca’s Opening Night Reception at the Fair

  • Wednesday, July 17, 2024, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

You are invited!

Come join the reception and sample local produce and foods prepared using our Farm to School and SNAP-Ed recipes. The recipes will be available so you can recreate them at home! Additionally, several other local food purveyors will be on hand as well featuring their unique products, including Linda Trout sampling her baked goods using spent brewers grains; Lively Run Goat Dairy will have some samples to pair with Shrub Bakery breads and a local charcutier board featuring Schrader’s Meat Market smoked meats will be available for sampling along with local cheeses.

The Cayuga Lake Wine Trail, the first wine trail in the US, will provide a tasting from several of the trail’s fourteen award winning wineries. Also, grape juice from Wagner Vineyards Estate Winery will be available for tasting. If wine or grape juice is not your thing, there will also be sample-sized, nutritious, Upstate NY milkshakes.

This is a fabulous opportunity to taste some of the best and freshest ingredients that Seneca County and the Finger Lakes has to offer.

Also, spend some time viewing the 4-H projects submitted by local 4-Hers as well as watching some of them preparing their Produced in New York recipes. Learn more about all that Seneca CCE has to offer in its mission areas of agriculture; nutrition; youth and families; home horticulture; natural resources and climate change; and community and economic vitality from displays and Seneca County staff. There will be something for everyone!

The event is open to the public, there is no charge and no registration needed. From Floral Hall visitors can head on out to all that the Fair has to offer including animal displays, carnival rides and food and the opening night Demolition Derby.
