Calling all Seneca County residents! Cornell Cooperative Extension of Seneca County is observing its Centennial this year. That’s right, we are celebrating 100 years of service. For this significant achievement, the CCE staff want to showcase Seneca County recipes that have been passed down through the generations. We are looking for family tried and true recipes for our Seneca County CCE Centennial Celebration Cookbookery.
Do you have a dish that would have been served approximately 100 years ago? If so, dust off those recipes and submit by sending them to email@example.com. Provide with the recipe your name, the creator’s name (i.e., Aunt Do Moriarty’s Bread and Butter Pickle Recipe), a copy of the recipe, your contact information, approximate date of recipe (i.e, 1918-ish), and any story/memories associated with the recipe. The stories are the fun part for the book, so please be sure to include them if you have them. Also, any photos (jpeg format) of old photos or images that are associated with the recipes would be appreciated too.
We are also reaching out to the Seneca County museums and historians for their input. If you would like to submit information, pictures, or old cookbooks please contact us with your details.
And after you submit your recipe, please plan to join us at the Culinary Tent at Celebrate/Commemorate on Memorial Day Weekend in Waterloo on Saturday, May 26th from 3 to 5 pm. At that time we will be featuring some of the recipes that were submitted for the cookbook. So please share with us some of your favorite family recipes and go down in history!
To submit the recipe, please email Sue Petersen at firstname.lastname@example.org
