Save the date for this year's America Recycles Day Event for Seneca County Residents!
This event comes at the conclusion of America Recycles Week, a perfect time to renew a commitment to reduce, reuse and recycle all of your consumable products. A complete list of what can and cannot be recycled for this event can be found below.
Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension (SCCCE), Seneca Meadows, Inc. and the Seneca County Recycling Department are sponsoring an Electronic Waste Recycling Drop-off and document shredding (including confidential documents) to help keep electronics and paper out of the landfill. Members of Seneca GR&EEN (Generating Recycling and Energy Education Now), part of Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension 4-H will be on hand to help unload electronics and hand out recycling information magnets.
A limited number of blue recycle bins will also be available for Seneca County residents to replace broken ones or if an extra bin is needed.
Start stockpiling items in a box or room and alert your friends, neighbors and relatives so they can clean out their junk too! All you will need to do that day is pull up, open your trunk or doors and the staff at the site will unload it all for you! What an easy way to help the environment! Questions about the event can be asked by calling SCCCE at (315) 539-9251.
Note: Your shredded documents can contain rubber bands, paper clips and/or be in hanging file folders as all of that can be shredded. Please remove any binder clips and take papers out of three ring binders.
