NYS Farmland Protection Program Pre-Application

Do you have farmland in Seneca County you want to protect from development?

In anticipation of the 2018 round of the New York State Farmland Protection Program, the Seneca County Agriculture Enhancement Board (AEB) is now accepting pre-applications. These pre-applications will be ranked and passed along to local land trusts, including New York Agricultural Land Trust and Finger Lakes Land Trust. These local land trusts will then determine which applications, if any, they will submit to New York State. Note that in some cases, these land trusts will charge landowners a fee to submit their applications.

This is the first step for landowners who want to apply to have New York State purchase development rights on their farms.

Pre-application forms can be downloaded HERE , or you can call our office to have one sent to you.
